In my studies I have focused on science, journalism, sociology, conservation and resource management. I have a special interest in social issues and sustainability. I’m currently working on finishing up my Environmental Science Policy and Management Bachelor of Science and Professional Journalism majors at the University of Minnesota.
Upon graduating I hope to secure a position in environmental policy, public relations, communications, magazine publication or non-profit work.
Working as a peer mentor for the University of Minnesota has allowed me to share my interest in ecological issues and nature with incoming freshman. I especially love interacting with the students and watching them take root and grow in the University setting.
Outside of school I have kindled my passion for the natural world by working to spread awareness about environmental issues and being a constant learner. Currently I work for Do It Green! Minnesota, a non-profit environmental organization that strives to connect communities and teach green living.
When I find spare time I enjoy hiking, watching any movie with Audrey Hepburn, traveling (especially to Haiti), photography, writing, being adventurous and spontaneous, reading, cooking vegetarian food, practicing yoga and spending time with my family, boyfriend and friends.
